When is the best time to sell my house in New Jersey?

When it comes time to think about selling a home, many homeowners aren’t sure of when the best time to list the home is. Although some people don’t have too much of a say in when they have to move due to a change in employment or another circumstance, others may have more flexibility and aren’t in a rush to move. Across the country, spring is generally the best time for someone to list their home. Of course, it varies from state to state. In the New York City metropolitan area, which can include New Jersey, the best time to list a home is on a Saturday between April 16th and 30th. According to Zillow, homes are sold 14 days faster than they are on average. In cities like Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, and Boston, homes should be listed between May 1st and 15th.

In a lot of situations, homeowners try to prepare their homes and make home improvements before they sell to try and get the home sold faster for a higher price. Some of the renovations that many homeowners try to make include simple landscaping and efforts to have more curb appeal, painting the home inside and out, upgrades to a bathroom, and simple projects in the kitchen.
